Czechs winners in bronze match

After two consecutive losses in the WFC bronze matches in 2006 and 2008 against Switzerland, Czech Republic could finally win the WFC medal.

Czech Republic´s sharp attacks and good defence made the difference against Switzerland and the Czech could win the bronze match with 9-3.

Patrik Jansson took Sweden to dream final

The outstanding performance of the Swedish goalie Patrik Jansson took Sweden to the WFC Final.

Switzerland played a very good game but could but ha a hard time getting the ball past the goalie. Patrik Jansson made a handful of spectacular saves and also saved a penalty shot.

The Swedish goals were scored by:Magnus Svensson, Mattias Helgesson and Mattias Samuelsson.

In the final they will meet the reigning World Champions Finland.

Czech Republic in bronze game

The first semi-final in WFC 2010 between Finland and Czech Republic ended with a Finnish victory.

Finland decided the match in the beginning of the third period and advanced to the WFC Final with a 6-1 victory over Czech Republic.

But the Czechs played well during the first half of the game and held on to a 1-0 lead after Tomas Sladkys goal less then two minutes into the game.

There were 12 000 spectators in Hartwall Areena, including almost 200 Czech fans.

Czech Republic will end their tournament in the bronze match against Switzerland.

World Floorball Championship 2014 in Sweden

The Swedish Floorball Federation decided this summer together with City of Gothenburg to apply for the hosting of World Floorball Championship for Men 2014. The International Floorball Federation has now decided to nominate Sweden as the organizing partner.

The World Floorball Championship, with 16 participating nations, will take place 5-14 December 2014 in Gothenburg.

Calebsson reaches 100

Daniel Calebsson 100 points for Sweden

Daniel Calebsson reached 100 points for the Swedish National Team as he scored once and assisted twice against Germany.

Calebsson is the third Swedish player to reach the 100-point mark, joining Niklas Jihde 139 and Martin Olofsson 110.

Swedish captain Karl-Johan Nilsson

Swedens goal scoring machinery continued on full speed in the WFC 2010 when Germany was defeated 21-1.

This means that Sweden wins group C after three big wins and a goal difference of 81-3.

It took Magnus Svensson only 18 seconds to score the opening goal for Sweden and efter the first period the score line was 6-0.

Rasmus Sundstedt Scored three goals for Sweden and was voted man of the match.

Sweden will meet Norway in the quarter-final on Thursday.
